‘I WILL’ vs. ‘I’LL TRY’ … who wins in this battle in your life?

“Attitudes are contagious.  Are yours worth catching?”  ~Dennis and Wendy Mannering

When you are met with a challenge in life what is your first instinct? Do you say to yourself I’m WILL accomplish my goal in this situation or do you say I’ll TRY to accomplish my goal in this situation? Those two words are very simple but have such conflicting differences. When a person is determined to reach a goal the attitude when approaching the objective is paramount.

What are the Habits of Successful People?

The most successful people in the world, those of us who not only know where we want to be 10 years from now, but how we will get there normally have one commonality. The chance of failure is not accepted, not acknowledged and not considered. When a person approaches a difficult task with the attitude of I will ‘try’ they are allowing doubt to control their actions. They are now anticipating and prepping for failure to soften the disappointment. However, when a person approaches the same scenario and says I ‘will’ it changes the entire perspective of that individual. They have subconsciously told themselves we are meeting this desired goal. Now lets think of how to do it.

Don’t be a TRY type of person, but instead be a ‘WILL’

How Do You Hold Yourself Responsible?

Take a sheet of paper out… (DON’T READ FORWARD UNTIL YOU GET A SHEET OF PAPER)

NOW WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO TODAY.

NOW WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO TOMORROW.

NOW WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO THIS WEEK.

NOW WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO THIS MONTH.

NOW WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO THIS YEAR.

FINALLY WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IN 2,5,10, AND 20 YEARS FROM NOW.

FINALLY YOUR GOAL IS TO READ THESE GOAL TO YOURSELF ONCE IN THE MORNING ONCE AT NIGHT…its not a bad idea to read it multiple times during the day as well. FOCUS ON THEM , ACT ON THEM, AND MAKE THEM YOUR REALITY.

Assume the outcome you want is a given, the path to get there is the only thing left to be considered. Don’t QUIT on yourself before you begin with a debilitating word like TRY. That is a dirty word, the only word that is worse is CAN’T but we’ll save that for the next blog.

SAY NO TO TRY AND YES TO WILL…I promise that minor shift in your attitude will have monumental effects on your life, the outcome of your actions and the obtainment of your goals.

Be GREAT at what you do today!

To Your Success,
