“One who fears failure limits his activities. Failure is only the opportunity to more intelligently begin again.” – Henry Ford
There’s nothing to fear but fear itself…RIGHT? But let’s be honest how many times have you hesitated to make a decision, or taking a step, or changing your course because of FEAR? You may not had admitted it to yourself at the time, and you certainly probably won’t admit it to others. But, lets keep this between you and I…you deal with fear daily right? We don’t have it like the privileged people we see on TV, hear on the radio, and read about in books and magazines. They have it all right? How can you have fear when you have 10 million in your bank account and can buy anything you want? How can you have fear when your parents left you a sum of money many of us will not amass in our lifetime. How can you have fear when you have this God-given talent to play great music, or excel at a sport, or perform well on stage and in front of a camera. How can you have fear when you come up with genius ideas like Google, or Facebook, or Apple? How can we relate to these type of people? How can we relate to the person who went back to school at the age of 60, or quit their job to start their own businessthese people are not like us. They do not know what its like to live in fear. Fear of failure, Fear of not being adequate, Fear of the unknown. Right?
Similar to the characters in the new Planet of the Apes movie we all live with fear. For the characters in the movie the feared the rise of the Apes. They feared that what they had engineered in a laboratory would destroy the human race. But, even without seeing the movie one can assume that they faced that fear head-on and fought back against ‘The Rise of the Planet of Apes’. The difference between the characters in the movie and types of people I mentioned earlier in the post is nothing. They are exactly the same. They had a fear, saw the fear, faced the fear and eventually BEAT the fear.
Are you too afraid to face your fears? Are you too worried about the unknown to become what you want to be? Are you worried about being judged for your failure? Or do you simply not believe in your abilities? Whatever it may be allow me to testify that you are capable of achieving things far beyond your most ambitious and outlandish beliefs. Your biggest hurdle will not be your neighbor, or coworker, friend, or family member. Your BIGGEST HURDLE WILL BE YOU! YES YOU DON’T LOOK AROUND INSTEAD LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND SAY “I CAN BE WHATEVER I WANT TO BE, WITH ADEQUATE EFFORT, AND A FEARLESS DESIRE TO REACH MY GOALS ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.”
Don’t wait until tomorrow, don’t wait until you have more money, time, friends, connections…if you wait you can’t fail, and if you don’t fail you are not trying, and if you are not trying you will NEVER, EVER REACH YOUR GOALS.
Be GREAT at what you today!
