Dreams Deferred

“One of the most important things that I have learned in my 57 years is that life is all about choices. On every journey you take, you face choices. At every fork in the road, you make a choice. And it is those decisions that shape our lives.” – Mike DeWine

How many people do you know who have had the opportunity to reach their dream, but they were sabotaged? Not by a friend, or family member or even an enemy. NOPE they were their own worst enemy. They had the first steps toward their dream, or the actual dream within arm’s reach, but instead of stepping forward they took a step back. Normally this is not a conscious decision, but subconscious. Normally it happens repeatedly and they do not realize until they come to a better understanding of themselves, or someone else points it out. These are normally the same people who continually talk about if they only had a chance? Or if they only had this or that they would go get their dream. Don’t be ashamed if this description is you, don’t be discouraged. Realize that you are in like company and we are almost all guilty of this characteristic at some point in our lives. The DIFFERENCE is the people who are successful recognize this attribute and they aggressively attack it. The successful people are the ones who walk into a dark room, simply to find the peep-hole that gets them to the light. In other words they take risks, they throw caution to the wind (though reasonable caution is important…i.e. if you are designing an airplane maybe you should fly it on land first before your drive off a cliff hoping it flies) So, take life by the horns and DON’T be AFRAID of what may happen, because YOU have the ability to determine the final outcome and as the saying goes every journey begins with a single step…so take that step and reach your true POTENTIAL. I already know you can do it, the QUESTION is DO YOU?

Be GREAT at what you do today!
